Yoruba Protester Claims Lagos Thugs Threatened Her, Calling Her Igbo

A Yoruba protester has shared that she was threatened by thugs in Lagos who mistakenly believed she was Igbo.

She explained that after participating in a peaceful demonstration in Ikeja, she was confronted by some thugs who called her an Igbo woman and told her to return to her state to protest.

In a video, she said, “They threatened me to leave!”

One thug reportedly said, “Igbo person, what did you come here to do? We will still beat you all one by one.”

She added, “My name is Funmi Jolade Ajayi. And even if I’m Omo Igbo, am I not a Nigerian?”
