I had a septum in my uterus” — Hailey Bieber opens up about pregnancy scare
Model, Hailey Bieber has opened up about the health complication she faced before welcoming her son, Jack Blues.
The 29-year-old founder of Rhode shared the details while appearing on the SHE MD podcast alongside her OB/GYN, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi.
Hailey who is married to singer, Justin Bieber, revealed that her pregnancy was a surprise, especially because her doctor had previously warned her about a condition called a uterine septum.
“So I had a septum in my uterus, and Dr. A kept saying, ‘We need to look at this and keep an eye on it before you get pregnant because it could potentially be an issue,’” she said.
A uterine septum is a congenital condition where a thin wall divides part of the uterus. According to her doctor, it can increase the risk of miscarriage or preterm delivery.
“And then she calls me, and she’s like, ‘I’m pregnant!’ And I’m like, ‘No!’” the doctor recalled during the podcast.
Despite the risks, Hailey said she believed everything would work out.
“You know what? I believe that everything’s gonna work out fine,” she remembered telling her doctor.
Thankfully, her pregnancy progressed safely.
However, Hailey has previously described her labor as intense and difficult.
In an earlier interview, she said giving birth was “the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” revealing she labored for hours without an epidural after her water was broken.
