Wizkid and Asake announce joint project 'Real' Vol. 1
The Afrobeats world was thrown into a frenzy on Thursday, December 5, 2025, after Wizkid and Asake officially confirmed they are teaming up for a joint project titled Real Vol. 1.
The exciting announcement was made during a special takeover on Apple Music Radio, bringing weeks of intense fan speculation to an end and instantly setting social media abuzz.
The collaboration represents a major milestone for modern Nigerian music, bringing together Wizkid, one of Africa’s most globally celebrated superstars, and Asake, whose explosive fusion of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and street-pop has made him one of the most dominant hitmakers of this generation.
While co-hosting the Apple Music show, the duo hinted that Real Vol. 1 could be the first installment of a larger collaborative series. Although no official tracklist or release date was disclosed, the announcement alone was enough to spark massive anticipation across the music industry.
Wizkid and Asake have already demonstrated undeniable chemistry on past collaborations, most notably the fan-favourite “MMS” from Asake’s 2024 album. Their upcoming project is expected to elevate that synergy even further, blending Wizkid’s smooth, globally appealing Afropop sound with Asake’s high-energy, choir-infused street style.
As fans eagerly await more details, Real Vol. 1 is already being hailed as a potential cultural landmark and one of the most significant collaborative projects to emerge from the Afrobeats scene in recent years.
