Terrorists Attack Kwara Community, Abduct Pregnant Woman and 10 Children

Tension and fear gripped the Isapa community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State on Monday evening after a group of heavily armed terrorists invaded the town, abducting a pregnant woman, 10 children, two nursing mothers, and several other residents in a coordinated and brutal attack.

According to reports by SaharaReporters, Isapa is located just a short distance from Eruku — another community that recently suffered a similarly devastating abduction incident. This latest attack has intensified anxiety across the region, which has seen a disturbing rise in armed invasions.

Sources from National Pilot revealed that the assault occurred around 6pm on November 24, 2025. Witnesses said between 20 and 30 armed bandits stormed the community, moving aggressively with a large herd of cattle while firing shots indiscriminately to create panic and force residents to flee.

During the chaos, an elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet. Her condition remains unclear.

A community leader who confirmed the incident said that 11 people were taken, including seven members of the same family, highlighting the scale and cruelty of the attack. Among those kidnapped are a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several young children, leaving the community in deep distress.

The abducted residents have been identified as:

  • Talatu Kabiru

  • Magaji

  • Kande

  • Hadiza

  • Mariam

  • Saima

  • Habibat (housewife)

  • Fatima Yusufu (housewife)

  • Sarah Sunday (pregnant woman)

  • Lami Fidelis (nursing mother)

  • Haja Na Allah

Eyewitness accounts describe the attackers moving through various parts of the community, shooting at random and leaving the walls and doors of several buildings riddled with bullet holes. After the gunmen fled, residents recovered numerous expended AK-47 shells scattered across the area — a grim reminder of the terror unleashed.

This incident comes on the heels of another deadly attack in nearby Eruku, previously reported by SaharaReporters. In that tragedy, terrorists stormed a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), killing three worshippers and abducting several others, including the church’s pastor.

According to earlier reports, the gunmen entered the church during a meeting and immediately opened fire, causing panic as worshippers scrambled for safety. Three people were shot dead instantly before the armed men rounded up an unspecified number of survivors at gunpoint and marched them into the forest.

“The gunmen came in suddenly and started shooting. Three people were killed instantly,” a source recounted. “They gathered others and forced them into the bush. Until now, we still don’t know how many were taken.”

The assailants reportedly escaped through bush paths linking Eruku to neighbouring communities, leaving behind a trail of grief, fear, and uncertainty. Residents in both Isapa and Eruku say the escalating attacks have left them terrified and unsure of what may come next.
