Veteran Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade has opened up about a period when she seemingly disappeared from the Nigerian movie industry, revealing that she and other top actors were allegedly banned from acting.

Speaking during a recent interview on Yanga FM, Omotola said the incident happened around 2015.

According to her, she, Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Nouah, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Jim Iyke and other veteran actors were banned by movie marketers because they were pushing for better standards and accountability in the industry.

Omotola said the marketers considered them a bad influence because they were demanding better structures and trying to raise the standard of Nigerian movies.
