Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has ignited widespread online buzz after revealing that Afrobeats superstar Rema gifted him a staggering ₦40 million to support the production of his music video for Pity This Boy.

The revelation came to light through a recently resurfaced interview clip that has since gone viral across social media platforms.

In the interview, Odumodublvck recounted how he defied industry advice warning him not to release his track on the same day as Rema’s new single. Trusting his instincts paid off in a way he never expected, as the Calm Down crooner responded with a grand gesture of support.

“When people do things for you, you have to appreciate it because you never know where the favour is coming from,” Odumodublvck explained. “They told me not to drop my song the same day as Rema’s, but I went ahead. That same guy sent me ₦40 million to shoot Pity This Boy. Imagine if I had listened — maybe the Holy Spirit wouldn’t have moved him to send that money.”

This confirmation follows a viral tweet Odumodublvck posted on June 9, 2025, where he first hinted at the generous act. He wrote:
“REMA GAVE ME 40 MILLION NAIRA TO SUPPORT PITY THIS BOY RECORD. 40 MILLION NAIRA. WRITE THAT DOWN IN NIGERIAN MUSIC FOLKLORE. THE MACHINE.”

The disclosure has drawn an outpouring of reactions from fans and fellow artists, with many applauding the show of solidarity between the two musicians. Rema’s gesture is being celebrated as a rare act of brotherhood and support in a competitive industry often clouded by rivalry and ego.

For many, the story not only highlights Rema’s generosity but also reinforces the power of authenticity and trust in one’s artistic journey.
