‘You’re not the best rapper’ – Odumodublvck fires back at Blaqbonez

Nigerian hip-hop sensation Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has openly called out fellow rapper Blaqbonez, urging him to stop referring to himself as the best rapper in Nigeria.

Tensions between the two lyricists escalated following a subtle diss aimed at Odumodublvck in Blaqbonez’s latest collaboration with A-Q, titled Who’s Really Rapping. The track reignited rivalry within the Nigerian rap scene and quickly triggered intense discussions on social media.

Speaking during an interview on Jusmen 105.7 FM, Odumodublvck didn’t mince words as he challenged Blaqbonez’s self-proclaimed title. He labeled the claim as not only premature but also disrespectful to iconic figures who have significantly shaped Nigerian hip-hop.

“Do you even understand what it means to call yourself the best rapper in Nigeria?” Odumodublvck questioned pointedly. “Stop the jokes. M.I is the best rapper, Vector is the best rapper. If you were really the best, you would’ve bagged Best Rap Album at the Headies — you weren’t even nominated for Best Rap Single.”

He went on to name-drop some of the genre’s most respected pioneers, including Phyno, Olamide, Modenine, Ghost, and Tec, asserting that such a prestigious title should be reserved for rappers with a track record of excellence, awards, and legacy.

“It’s honestly annoying, bro. Making statements like that could get you slapped,” he added bluntly, warning Blaqbonez against feeding fans with inflated claims that disregard the contributions of foundational artists.

While Odumodublvck acknowledged Blaqbonez’s talent and impact, he emphasized that confidence should not cross the line into ego-driven narratives that hinder others’ chances in the industry. The clash has since sparked widespread reactions from fans and industry watchers, with debates raging over who truly deserves the crown in Nigeria’s ever-evolving rap landscape.
