Africans on X are engaging in a discussion about migration to the West and its implications for men.

The conversation was sparked by a video shared by an African woman, who claimed her husband demanded a substantial sum from her for facilitating her relocation abroad.

Some male participants defended this practice, arguing that the money serves as insurance against unforeseen circumstances.

One individual shared a personal story highlighting the risks involved. He recounted how his uncle’s life took a drastic turn for the worse after marrying a Ghanaian woman and bringing her to Italy.

In his tweet, he wrote: “My uncle has been in Italy for over 40 years. He brought his wife from Ghana, but within less than 5 years, she divorced him and the government gave her his house.

“Now he’s renting his own house, while she lives there with another man.”

This narrative underscores the complexities and challenges faced by African men navigating relationships and migration to Western countries.
