Nicholas Jackson Loan Move to Bayern Munich Back On Track After Chelsea U-Turn

New developments have emerged regarding Nicholas Jackson’s proposed loan move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

After Chelsea initially called off the deal on Saturday, August 30, 2025, due to striker Liam Delap’s hamstring injury, fresh talks between the two clubs have reignited the transfer. Delap’s setback, which is expected to keep him sidelined for up to eight weeks, had forced Chelsea to reconsider letting Jackson leave.

Bayern had already agreed terms for a season-long loan worth around €15 million (£13 million), with an option to buy set at €65 million — a fee that would have made the deal one of the most expensive loan moves in football history.

Despite Chelsea’s attempts to halt the transfer and recall him to London, Jackson reportedly made it clear he was determined to join Bayern. The Senegalese forward had already travelled to Munich for his medical and was reluctant to return.

As the 2025 summer transfer window edges to a close today, Monday, September 1, it is now confirmed that Chelsea and Bayern Munich are back at the negotiating table. Both sides are working to push the deal through before the deadline.
