Nigerian street pop star Portable is taking bold steps toward establishing himself as a full-fledged record label boss with the unveiling of fresh talent under his Zeh Nation imprint.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Portable introduced a new roster of emerging artists he is mentoring. One standout is Gospel Kanu, who has adopted the stage name Young Odumodu—a clear homage to award-winning rapper Odumodublvck.
In a video posted online, Young Odumodu showcased his rap skills, delivering bars reminiscent of the rapper whose name he draws inspiration from. The clip quickly caught Odumodublvck’s attention, prompting him to react on X (formerly Twitter) with a simple yet telling response: “Zeh Nation.”
Portable’s New Chapter Amid Past Controversies
Portable’s latest move marks another phase in his journey as a label executive, despite previous controversies surrounding his mentorship of artists. His former signee, Young Duu, had a dramatic exit from Zeh Nation, later accusing Portable of mistreatment.
Despite these setbacks, Portable remains committed to expanding his brand while continuing his own music career. His announcement coincides with the upcoming release of his new EP, Ogo Most Wanted.

The singer’s label expansion comes at a turbulent time, as he was recently declared wanted by the Ogun State Police for allegedly assaulting government officials. However, after turning himself in, he was granted bail and has since vowed to keep a lower profile.
