Noah Lyles has etched his name deeper into athletics history after storming to his fourth consecutive world title in the men’s 200 meters, a milestone that now places him side by side with sprint legend Usain Bolt.

The American sprinter achieved this remarkable feat on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, clocking a winning time of 19.52 seconds.

With this victory, Lyles became only the second man ever to win four straight world 200m gold medals, a record previously held solely by Bolt. His triumph not only highlights his consistency and resilience on the global stage but also reinforces his reputation as the undisputed king of sprinting in the post-Bolt era.

The race itself was a masterclass in sprinting excellence. Lyles kept his composure through the curve before unleashing his trademark acceleration down the home stretch.

In the final 50 meters, he surged ahead with authority, leaving his rivals trailing and sealing yet another golden chapter in his career. This performance further cements his dominance over the event and strengthens his claim as Bolt’s true successor in the sprinting world.

For Lyles, this victory is more than just another medal—it is a statement. Despite facing critics and doubters in previous seasons, he has consistently proven his ability to rise to the occasion when it matters most. His four titles, won in Doha 2019, Eugene 2022, Budapest 2023, and Tokyo 2025, speak volumes of his sustained excellence and place him firmly among the greatest sprinters in history.

Behind him, the men’s 200m final produced blistering times as well. Kenny Bednarek finished a close second in 19.58 seconds, while Bryan Levell claimed bronze in 19.64 seconds. Botswana’s rising star, Letsile Tebogo, narrowly missed out on a medal, crossing the line fourth in 19.65 seconds.

As the world now turns its attention toward the upcoming Olympic Games, Noah Lyles has not only secured his place in history but also set the stage for what promises to be another thrilling showdown on the biggest stage of all.
