Nigerians granted visa-free entry to Grenada

The Consulate of Grenada in Nigeria has announced visa-free entry for Nigerian passport holders, a move aimed at strengthening trade, tourism, and investment relations between both countries.
Grenada’s Consul to Nigeria, Ambassador Abidemi Sonoiki, disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists on Thursday, June 5.
“Today, Grenada presents a compelling opportunity for Nigerian investors and entrepreneurs looking to access new markets beyond Africa.
“We are witnessing the emergence of a strategic economic corridor between Africa and the Caribbean, one that offers immense opportunities for trade, investment, tourism, education and business growth,” Sonoiki said.
He said the Caribbean nation has already approved free entry for Nigerians and is awaiting reciprocal action from the Nigerian government through diplomatic channels.
The move aims to deepen economic relations.
According to Sonoiki, discussions are also underway to establish direct air connectivity between Nigeria and the Caribbean within the next six months, a development he described as potentially transformative for trade and investment between both regions.
“Visa-free access removes a significant barrier to engagement. It enables Nigerian investors, business owners and professionals to explore opportunities in Grenada more easily and creates a stronger foundation for commercial cooperation,” he said.
On the proposed flight corridor, he added: “Connectivity is one of the most important enablers of economic growth. Establishing direct links between Nigeria and the Caribbean would unlock enormous opportunities for trade, investment and tourism while positioning Grenada as a strategic gateway for African businesses seeking access to Caribbean markets.”
Sonoiki said the opportunities being promoted extended beyond large-scale investors to skilled professionals, entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking international expansion.
“We want Nigerian investors to see Grenada not simply as a Caribbean destination, but as a strategic business platform.
