The Simpsons fans baffled by Mr Burns’ voice in new episode

New Episode of The Simpsons Leaves Fans Surprised by Mr Burns’ Voice – The recent episode of The Simpsons sparked a flurry of reactions from devoted fans, particularly concerning Mr. Burns’ distinctive voice.

Since the show’s inception in 1989, the character has been brought to life by two talented actors: Christopher Collins and Harry Shearer, who took over in 1990.

However, in the latest installment of the 35th season, some viewers noticed a subtle shift in Shearer’s portrayal of Burns, prompting discussions on social media.

While Shearer has faithfully voiced the character for years, certain fans speculated whether his interpretation still aligns with the essence of Mr. Burns.

One Twitter user pondered, “@TheSimpsons did the voice of Burns change or am I hearing something wrong?” while another expressed, “I know it’s inevitable with the age of the voice actors but Mr. Burns’ voice on the latest episode is really throwing me off.”

Another commenter delved deeper, suggesting, “I think it’s less that he sounds old and more that he just doesn’t sound like Mr. Burns anymore.

Like there’s more to a voice than age.” Echoing similar sentiments, another individual remarked that Mr. Burns’ voice sounded “kinda scratchy,” adding, “Like he was recording too long and it was getting bad, voice-wise.”

Fans of the cherished animated series recently expressed strong emotions over the funeral scenes of a particular character. In a recent episode, after 35 years, Larry the barfly was laid to rest, prompting some viewers to question why his best friend Sam was absent from the memorial service.

In response to queries, Matt Selman, the executive producer of The Simpsons, addressed the issue on Twitter/X. He explained, “We talked about a throwaway joke to explain where Sam was, but we already did that with Barney.”

Selman elaborated that incorporating Sam into the storyline posed challenges, as it would introduce essentially a new (old) character and alter the narrative trajectory.

However, he acknowledged that there might have been other creative solutions to include Larry’s closest companion.
