Former NBA star Lamar Odom checks out of rehab after 30-day stint for marijuana addiction

Former NBA star Lamar Odom has completed a 30-day rehabilitation programme at iRely Recovery in Los Angeles following his recent DUI arrest.

The 46-year-old entered treatment shortly after the arrest. At the time, Odom publicly stated that neither alcohol nor narcotics were involved in the incident. However, police reportedly said his vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana when he was pulled over and that he admitted to smoking earlier that day.

According to his manager, Gina Rodriguez, Odom decided to seek treatment because he wanted to address his marijuana use, fearing it could potentially lead him back to harder substances. Odom has previously been open about his struggles with addiction.

He chose iRely Recovery after reconnecting with the facility’s CEO, Vinsent Franke. In 2023, Franke had invited Odom to visit the centre after hearing him deliver an emotional speech at the Annual California Addiction Conference. Following the DUI incident, Odom reportedly reached out to Franke for support and was admitted into the programme.

Now out of rehab, Odom is said to be focusing on a new business venture. Sources say he is working on HealLO.co, an AI-powered nationwide platform aimed at connecting individuals with wellness and treatment centres across the United States.
