Bill Cosby admits he had 7 Quaalude prescriptions to drug women

Comedian and actor, Bill Cosby, may be facing new legal trouble.  The 88-year-old ex convict said in a deposition that he had received a recreational prescription for quaaludes that he hoped to give women before having s£x with them, TMZ reports.
Cosby reportedly said under oath that he got the prescription, which he refilled seven times, from a gynecologist friend while playing poker more than a half-century ago, specifically, before 1972.
The information is expected to figure into a lawsuit filed by Donna Motsinger, who claims Cosby drugged and s£xually ass@ulted her in 1972 while she was a waitress at a California restaurant.
TMZ says the gynecologist who prescribed the quaaludes, Dr. Leroy Amar, had his license revoked by California regulators in 1979.
Andrew Wyatt, who served as a crisis manager for Cosby, joined “Jesse Weber Live” on Wednesday to defend his former client. He said he flat-out asked the star if all the allegations against him were true, and Cosby firmly denied them.
“He said, ‘Andrew, I wouldn’t take you through the valley of shame,’” Wyatt said.
Cosby did mention the use of quaaludes during earlier eras, he added.
“He said, ‘Yes, I had quaaludes. Quaaludes was called ‘disco biscuits,’ and all of the entertainers had them,’” Wyatt recalled.
Cosby was a groundbreaking standup comedian and television star known best known for NBC’s “The Cosby Show,” but long-simmering allegations that he had raped multiple women came to a head in 2014 through a comedian’s viral clip.
A Pennsylvania jury in 2018 convicted Cosby of aggravated indecent ass@ult after prosecutors accused him of drugging and s£xually ass@ulting Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia residence in 2004. Cosby had been a mentor to the Temple University employee.
The state’s high court overturned the conviction in 2021 over a due-process violation, and the actor was released from prison.
According to a report by the Mirror US, Cosby said that he used prescription drugs from his friend, gynaecologist Dr Leroy Amar. A sample from the deposition was said to be used in a new document filed by one of his r@pe accusers.
The report alleged that the document read, “At his deposition, he was able to recall events from decades ago … the name of the OBGYN who gave him quaaludes.”
Reportedly, Cosby refilled the prescription for quaaludes seven times.
Cosby’s quaaludes were described as ‘round, white pills’ as per TMZ.
For the unversed, quaaludes, chemically known as methaqualone, were powerful sedative-hypnotic drugs. Popular in the 1960s and 70s, they were typically used for sleep and anxiety-related issues.
The filings mentioned that Cosby was asked by an attorney, “When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?” To this, the 88-year-old replied, “Yes.”
