Afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr is gearing up for a major spotlight moment in New York this December, as the Grammy Museum hosts a special edition of its celebrated program series, “A New York Evening With Ayra Starr.”

The exclusive event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, and will be held at the prestigious National Sawdust venue in Brooklyn.

The two-time Grammy nominee — known globally for smash hits like “Rush” and “Sability” — will take part in an in-depth conversation exploring her artistry, creative evolution, and remarkable rise from teenage talent to international sensation. The conversation will be followed by an intimate live performance, giving fans a chance to experience Ayra Starr in a uniquely personal setting. The session will be moderated by respected music journalist J’na Jefferson.

Ayra Starr’s feature in the series marks a significant moment for Afrobeats on the world stage. As one of the genre’s most influential young voices and a trailblazer for African female artists, her inclusion underscores the Grammy Museum’s growing commitment to highlighting global music and culture through its New York programming.

The evening will also shine a light on her 2026 Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance with her hit track “Gimme Dat.” The recognition adds to her impressive list of achievements — including becoming the first and youngest Nigerian female artist to secure a nomination in that category when “Rush” earned her global acclaim.

Her participation comes after a monumental year in her career. Ayra Starr released her critically acclaimed sophomore album, “The Year I Turned 21,” and delivered standout performances around the world. These highlights include her debut appearance at Glastonbury and joining Coldplay on their Music of the Spheres World Tour, further cementing her status as a true global star.

Tickets for the event are now available exclusively through the Grammy Museum’s website. The New York program series continues to be supported by the Dawn and Brian Hoesterey Family Foundation, helping bring powerful, culture-shaping artists like Ayra Starr directly to audiences.
