Applications Now Open for September 2024 at Music Leaders Network – The Music Leaders Network, a women’s leadership program, is now accepting applications for its September 2024 intake.
Running from September 2024 to January 2025, the program, led by Remi Harris MBE and Tamara Gal-On, seeks to empower women in the music industry with five to 25 years of experience.
The initiative, boasting a cohort of 12 members, contributes to a growing alumnae network of 70 women across various sectors within the music industry.
Designed to transform the career trajectories of mid-career women, including those who identify as non-binary or trans, the program emphasizes professional development. Alumnae hail from diverse backgrounds, with representation from entities like Fuga, Polydor, September Management, PPL, PRS for Music, AIM Ireland, and Blue Raincoat Music, alongside freelance music creators.
Tamara Gal-On emphasizes the program’s positive impact on the industry, noting the participants’ subsequent roles as mentors and leaders, creating a ripple effect.
Applications for the September 2024 intake are open until May 31, offering aspiring leaders an opportunity to join a supportive peer-to-peer network and receive the necessary skills to thrive in a male-dominated industry. The Music Leaders Network aims to foster lasting connections among participants, nurturing a community of support throughout their careers.
Katie Eckett, Manager of Business and Legal at Merlin, emphasized the invaluable connections forged through the Music Leaders Network program. Reflecting on her experience, she highlighted the network of remarkable women and the multitude of opportunities that have arisen as a result.
The camaraderie among participants, she noted, has fostered mutual support and served as a significant source of encouragement throughout their journeys.
Janeace (Jay-T) Thompson, Director of Talent, Culture & Experience at PRS for Music, shared insights into the organization’s approach to talent development. Acknowledging the program’s success and the career advancements achieved by previous participants, PRS for Music proactively identified high-potential women leaders to nominate for the Music Leaders Network.
With Elaine Allen, Head of Joint Ventures and Revenue Assurance at PRS for Music, being the organization’s first participant, there is genuine optimism that the program will yield positive outcomes for her and future leaders alike.
According to a survey conducted post-programme, an overwhelming 91% of participants reported increased confidence in their leadership abilities. Furthermore, the survey revealed an average income increase of 66% within one year post-programme among respondents, underscoring the program’s tangible impact on career progression.

To ensure accessibility, the founders of the Music Leaders Network will once again offer discretionary bursaries to assist self-employed participants and those working for charities with program costs.
For individuals contemplating enrollment in the program, Online Q&A events are scheduled for Thursday, March 14 at 11:45 am, Thursday, April 18 at 1 pm, and Tuesday, May 14.
These sessions provide prospective participants and businesses with the opportunity to pose inquiries about the program, offering valuable insights and clarification. Pre-registration on Eventbrite is required for attendance, and each session lasts for 30 minutes.
