6 U.S. federal agencies to release investigation records related to President Ahmed Tinubu

On Friday, May 2, 2025, six U.S. federal agencies—including the FBI, DEA, IRS, CIA, Department of State, and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices—are scheduled to release investigation records related to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, presided over by Judge Beryl Howell, ordered the release, stating that the agencies’ previous refusals to confirm or deny the existence of such records were “neither logical nor plausible.”

The FOIA requests also targeted records related to Lee Andrew Edwards, Mueez Abegboyega Akande, and Abiodun Agbele, individuals allegedly associated with a drug trafficking ring in the 1990s.
