Wizkid sparks fresh controversy with series of explosive tweets

Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has ignited a storm of criticism after releasing a series of harsh and deeply personal tweets on Friday, December 5, 2025, aimed at his long-time rivals.

The posts, which appeared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, pushed far beyond the usual competitiveness that fuels music industry feuds, touching on matters of loss, failure, and personal tragedy.

In one of the most shocking tweets, Wizkid appeared to mock past bereavements linked to his rivals, writing: “Pvssyboys got enough dead ppl in their crew to cry about! Add more tears.” The message immediately drew widespread backlash online, with many describing it as insensitive and unnecessarily cruel.

Wizkid escalated the tension with additional posts in the same aggressive tone. In another tweet, he insinuated that his competitors had faded into irrelevance, writing: “I think say all of una don die finish! Una still remain?”

He went on to mock the performance of a rival’s recent album, referencing past boasts from competing fanbases: “Dem say album go swallow album dem dey ground dey smell now!” The statement was widely interpreted as a swipe at Davido, recalling a long-running competitive narrative between both camps about whose album reigns supreme.

Wizkid rounded off his series of posts with a threatening remark about the ongoing feud and declared himself the “biggest” in the industry.

The posts have drawn mixed reactions: while some members of his loyal fanbase, Wizkid FC, applauded his boldness, many observers and industry figures criticized the comments as crossing a line, especially given the references to loss.

As of the time of reporting, there has been no official response from the artist presumed to be the target of the tweets, but the intensity of Wizkid’s remarks has raised concerns that this long-standing rivalry may escalate further in the coming days.
