The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of two Chinese nationals working at a road construction site in the state.

The victims were part of the team handling the BUA Bode Saadu/Kaiama/Kosubosu road project when the armed men struck.

Sources told Daily Trust that the attackers, who arrived in masks, invaded the site and whisked the Chinese workers away after firing several shots to scare residents and workers

The incident was said to have occurred in the early hours of Monday at the facility located in the Ejidongari district of Moro Local Government Area.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the incident in a telephone chat on Thursday night, December 4.

“Yes, the two Chinese were abducted from the construction site. But we have not heard from them yet as the kidnappers have not called as we speak,” he said.
