Victor Lindelöf is reportedly preparing to depart Manchester United
Victor Lindelöf Poised for Manchester United Exit, Eyes Benfica Return
Manchester United defender Victor Lindelöf is reportedly set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, with a return to Benfica on the horizon.
The 30-year-old Swedish international has struggled for game time this season, having yet to start a Premier League match and featuring in fewer than five games across all competitions. His last appearance came as a second-half substitute against Fulham in the FA Cup on Sunday.
With Lindelöf’s contract expiring this summer, Manchester United’s board has shown no indication of offering him a new deal. Reports suggest he is keen on rejoining Benfica, the club he left in 2017 after spending five years there. The Portuguese side, currently boasting defenders like Nicolás Otamendi, Tomás Araújo, António Silva, and Adrian Bajrami, could welcome his experience in their squad.
Lindelöf is not the only player expected to depart United this summer, with Christian Eriksen, Tom Heaton, and Jonny Evans also likely to move on.
