Tottenham Hotspur Appoint Thomas Frank as New Head Coach After Postecoglou Exit
Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new head coach, following the departure of Ange Postecoglou earlier this month.
The North London club confirmed the news via their official website on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Despite guiding Spurs to a historic Europa League victory in May—the club’s first major trophy in 17 years—Postecoglou’s contract was terminated following a disappointing domestic campaign.
Frank makes the move across London after a successful seven-year spell with Brentford, where he led the Bees from the Championship to Premier League promotion in 2021. During his time in the top flight, he earned widespread praise for Brentford’s stability, finishing 13th, 9th, 16th, and 10th in four Premier League seasons.
The decision to bring in Frank comes after Tottenham’s alarming league form last season. Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League, narrowly avoiding relegation after losing 22 of their 38 matches.
Despite their league struggles, their Europa League triumph over Manchester United in Bilbao ensured a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Frank is expected to bring fresh ideas and structure to a team desperate to rebuild and restore consistency in the league while preparing for European competition next season.
