Spotify has officially announced the most-streamed artist of all time on the platform in Nigeria.

In a new five-year data review, the streaming giant reinforced its position as a central force in Nigeria’s music ecosystem by unveiling the artists who have consistently ruled listeners’ playlists. From the dominance of the “Big Three” to the rapid ascent of street-pop heavyweights, these leading acts have done more than release chart-topping songs — they have shaped the everyday soundtrack of Africa’s most populous nation.

The data, which covers the period from Spotify’s Nigerian launch in 2021 through 2026, reflects a major shift in listening habits. Indigenous sounds and high-energy Afrobeats have taken center stage, showing how strongly local music resonates with audiences across the country.

According to the figures, the five most-streamed artists of all time in Nigeria on Spotify are:

  • Asake

  • Wizkid

  • Seyi Vibez

  • Burna Boy

  • Davido

The rise of these five stars aligns with the rapid growth of Nigeria’s digital music market. Since 2021, the number of Nigerian artists distributed on major streaming platforms has grown by more than 150%, while total listening hours in the country surpassed 1.4 billion in 2025 alone.

Looking ahead, this “Big Five” benchmark underscores the strength of Nigeria’s homegrown talent. Whether through emotionally rich melodies or energetic street anthems, these artists have demonstrated that Nigerian listeners remain deeply committed to supporting their own.
