Olamide Describes Afrobeats Stars in One Word During Candid Interview

Nigerian music icon Olamide has sparked conversation online after offering one-word descriptions of some of Afrobeats’ biggest names during an appearance on the popular web series Flow with Korty, which aired on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

The interview, held inside a car with host Korty EO, took a reflective turn when Olamide was asked to describe several fellow artists using just a single word. The result was a revealing glimpse into his personal views and experiences with each of them.

For his YBNL signee Fireboy DML, Olamide didn’t hesitate: “Amazing.”
Asked about Adekunle Gold, he paused briefly before saying: “Audacious,” hinting at the artist’s bold transformation over the years.
In a surprising choice, he described Lil Kesh as “Adorable,” a word that caught Korty off guard and quickly became a highlight of the segment.
On Asake, YBNL’s current breakout star, Olamide simply said: “Spontaneous,” likely referencing the singer’s sudden success and unpredictable energy.
When the spotlight turned inward and Korty asked Olamide to describe himself, he replied with “Peaceful,” reflecting the calm confidence of a seasoned artist who’s found balance in both music and life.

The segment has since gone viral, with fans praising Olamide’s sincerity and the respectful tone of his comments. His thoughtful word choices offered a fresh lens on some of Nigeria’s top talents, reminding many of the close-knit nature of the Afrobeats scene.
