On Tuesday morning (February 6), a rigger working on the show fell from a rafter, succumbing to their injuries. The fatality has led to a temporary suspension of production on the series, currently filming at Radford Studios in Los Angeles.

IATSE, the union representing the crew on the set, issued a statement in response to the heartbreaking news. President Matthew D. Loeb stated, “Everyone in the IA family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic loss.

We are working to support our member’s family and his fellow members and colleagues.” Emphasizing safety, Loeb pledged cooperation with the Cal/OSHA investigation and urged members to use the IATSE Safety Hotline or safety info app if feeling unsafe on set.

Riggers typically handle ropes, lifts, and other equipment on film or TV sets, often contributing to stunts and special effects, including the flying of actors on harnesses.
