Kimora Lee Simmons reportedly refuses to leave $25m Beverly Hills mansion bought with stolen funds
American model and reality TV star Kimora Lee Simmons is reportedly locked in a legal battle over a luxury Beverly Hills mansion allegedly purchased with embezzled money by her estranged husband, Tim Leissner.
According to court filings, the seven-bedroom estate — located in Beverly Hills — was bought in 2017 using funds stolen from Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, 1MDB, Daily Mail reported.
The property was later sold to billionaire real-estate brothers, but documents claim Simmons has continued living there since November 2020 without paying rent.
Reports also state she filmed her reality series inside the mansion, which sits on about 3.7 acres and reportedly houses hundreds of designer handbags.
A court hearing to determine ownership and possession of the disputed property is scheduled for later this month.
The situation has stirred reactions online, with many divided over whether the dispute is a legal matter or a moral one tied to the scandal surrounding the home’s purchase.
