Kevin de Bruyne reportedly set to join top Serie A club

Former Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly on the verge of joining newly crowned 2024/25 Serie A champions Napoli as a free agent.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that De Bruyne’s legal team is expected in Naples shortly to finalize the agreement with the Italian club. The deal is close to completion, with the player’s signature anticipated in the coming days.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is eager to secure De Bruyne’s services swiftly, aiming to fend off interest from other top European clubs and seal the high-profile signing without delay.

As Napoli prepares for a competitive 2025/26 season across Serie A and the UEFA Champions League, the addition of the Belgian playmaker would be a significant boost for manager Antonio Conte’s squad as they aim to maintain their domestic dominance and challenge on the European stage.

De Bruyne departs Manchester City on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract, with both parties unable to reach an agreement on a renewal. He originally joined the Cityzens from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
