Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid ahead of the 2026/27 season, following the club’s second consecutive exit from the UEFA Champions League.

Reports suggest that preliminary talks may have taken place between Madrid representatives and Klopp’s camp regarding a possible move to Spain to take charge of the team.

Klopp’s achievements at Liverpool FC—where he guided the club to both Champions League and Premier League titles—have firmly established him as one of the top managers of his era. For a club of Madrid’s stature, he would represent a high-profile appointment capable of ushering in a new phase of success.

However, Klopp himself has downplayed the speculation. The German coach has publicly denied any contact, describing the reports as unfounded. Currently working in a non-coaching role within the Red Bull football group, he appears to be enjoying time away from the pressures of active management after years at the highest level.

At present, there has been no official approach, no agreement, and no clear indication that Klopp is ready to return to coaching anytime soon—let alone take on one of the most demanding roles in world football.
