Here is why Arsenal might win the 2025/26 Premier League season

Arsenal supporters are buzzing with optimism ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season, convinced that this could finally be the year their club lifts the league trophy.

The Gunners have been active in the 2025 summer transfer window, strengthening key areas of their squad. The standout signing has been prolific Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres, who joined from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon. Many fans believe Gyökeres could be the final piece of the puzzle — the “missing link” that has prevented Arsenal from converting their recent title challenges into outright victories.

That optimism is rooted in history. The last time Arsenal finished second in three consecutive seasons — 1997/98, 1998/99, and 1999/2000 — they went on to win the Premier League the very next year, clinching the 2000/01 title. Now, after finishing runners-up in 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25, many believe history could repeat itself, with the trophy making its way to the Emirates Stadium in May 2026.

Statistical models also support the belief that Arsenal are genuine contenders. Their title-winning probability has nearly doubled, jumping from 12.2% last season to 24.3% in pre-season simulations. Liverpool remain the statistical favourites with a 28.5% chance of winning, while Manchester City are not far behind. The data points toward a three-way battle for the crown that could last until the final weeks of the campaign.

Chelsea are tipped to round out the top four, with Manchester United projected to finish fifth. While nothing is guaranteed in football, Arsenal’s bolstered squad, growing momentum, and strong numbers suggest a fourth straight second-place finish is unlikely — they are firmly in the hunt for Premier League glory.
