Former stripper finds solace in Church after marrying a Pastor

Vimbai Muzuva, popularly known in Zimbabwean entertainment circle as “Chocolate,” has left behind her career as a stripper and embraced a new life of faith after marrying a pastor.

Once a regular on nightclub stages at home and abroad, she has undergone a dramatic transformation and now identifies as a born-again Christian.

Close associates confirmed that Muzuva has cut ties with her past life. She has changed her contact details, deleted content from her former social media accounts, and now maintains a private Facebook profile under her birth name, where she frequently shares Bible verses. Her reinvention, according to those who knew her best, marks nothing short of a miracle.

Her former manager, Sherpard “Sherpy Taz” Tsandukwa, welcomed the change. He described her newfound path as both a relief and a victory after years of public struggles with substance abuse.

“I am glad that Chocolate, whom I once managed, has turned to God after winning her battle against drug abuse,” Tsandukwa said. “Many people in strip clubs knew her as that talented dancer who turned heads on the club scene by providing adult entertainment, but now she is a changed person.”

He recalled their shared history, including a six-month tour of China, but also acknowledged a difficult period marked by conflict and legal trouble. “At one point, she had me arrested when she accused me of stealing her money, but I was acquitted after she failed to provide proof,” he recounted. Despite the fallout, Tsandukwa said he later supported her rehabilitation. “I had her checked into rehab and I am glad that she is now a new person who is focusing on God’s ministry as well as selling her beauty products in Glen View, where she runs a stall.”

The transformation has also been recognised by the Dancers Association of Zimbabwe (DAZ). Its president, Harpers Mapimhidze, said her new direction is a welcome departure from what he described as a troubling decline earlier this year.

“I am one of the people who celebrated when I heard that Chocolate had turned to God,” Mapimhidze said. “Earlier this year, I could not engage her for a meaningful conversation because she had become a slave to drugs. She appeared to have lost her senses, behaving erratically and being violent.”

He added that she has deliberately cut herself off from many past acquaintances. “Chocolate has since changed her numbers, and I understand that her new partner, who also leads the same church, doesn’t want her to talk with old friends to ensure she doesn’t revert to her old ways, which is good for her.”
