Chelsea got chance to sign Real Madrid and Barcelona midfield target
Chelsea got chance to sign Real Madrid and Barcelona midfield target- Highly-rated Al-Ahli midfielder Gabri Veiga, who recently joined the Saudi team six months ago, has caught the attention of Chelsea.
Last summer, the 21-year-old stirred interest from several top European teams after making an impact with his former team, Celta Vigo. Despite pursuits from Liverpool, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, Veiga opted for a lucrative contract with Al-Ahli.
In his time with the Saudi club, Veiga has made 17 appearances, contributing with four assists and four goals.
Chelsea, facing potential departures of midfielders Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez, may be in need of a new midfielder. Tottenham’s interest in Gallagher, coupled with financial concerns, could lead to a potential sale. Fernandez, although open to leaving at the end of the season, faces challenges due to his high price tag. If either Gallagher or Fernandez leaves Stamford Bridge, Veiga could be a viable long-term replacement.

Reports from Fichajes suggest that Chelsea is likely to pursue Veiga if he decides to return to Europe after spending a year in Saudi Arabia. Real Madrid and Barcelona are also reported as “admirers” of the talented young player, who made a surprising move to the Saudi Pro League last summer.
Veiga played a crucial role in helping Celta Vigo avoid relegation in La Liga before making the €30 million transfer to the Saudi team. Despite having a contract until 2026, speculation suggests Veiga is not content in Saudi Arabia.
