Chief Jason Bastin added: “Our investigation is in its early stages, but preliminary information suggests this was a tragic accident. However, we are thoroughly reviewing all available evidence, including witness statements and surveillance video, to determine exactly what occurred.

“There was a large presence of first responders at the scene as we investigated the incident. Support services are being made available, and we are coordinating closely with victim assistance resources. We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available. Thank you.”
