Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter sued for s3xual assault by woman who claimed he gave her STDs
Nick Carter, a member of the Backstreet Boys, is facing a lawsuit from a woman named Laura Penly, who alleges that the singer s3xually assaulted her multiple times in the mid-2000s.
Penly claims that she met Carter in 2004 when she was 19 years old, and they engaged in a brief s3xual relationship. According to Penly, during their encounters, Carter refused to wear a condom despite her requests, claiming he was “clean” from s3xually transmitted diseases.
Penly further alleges that in early 2005, after she told Carter she didn’t want to have s3x, he forcefully picked her up, threw her onto a bed, and s3xually assaulted her, ignoring her repeated pleas to stop. She claims that Carter did not use a condom during the assault.
Penly also states that Carter instructed her to keep the incident a secret, asserting that no one would believe her. Several months later, she says Carter apologized and asked to meet her again.
Penly claims that she contracted several s3xually transmitted diseases, including HPV, from Carter, and was later diagnosed with cervical cancer, which she attributes to the HPV infection.
She says that she had to undergo surgery and cancer treatments as a result. Penly is suing Carter for s3xual assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress, and is seeking damages.
In response, Carter’s legal team denies the allegations, calling them “utterly false” and part of a broader pattern of accusations aimed at damaging his reputation. They claim that Carter does not recall meeting Penly or engaging in any s3xual relationship with her.
Additionally, they point to Penly’s documented financial and legal troubles, including a bankruptcy filing and a history of lawsuits for fraud.
