Arsenal Target Nico Williams Addresses Future Amid Transfer Speculation

Arsenal’s top transfer target ahead of the June 2025 window, Nico Williams, has responded to mounting speculation surrounding his future, reaffirming his commitment to Athletic Club.

The 22-year-old Spain international, who is also on Barcelona’s radar, was heavily pursued by both clubs last summer but opted to remain with the Basque side. Despite renewed interest, Williams has made it clear he remains focused on helping Athletic Club pursue Europa League success this season.

In an interview with Sport, Williams said:

“My dream is to lift the champion’s trophy at San Mamés. I have the chance to make history at this club. The dream never ends. Right now, I’m fully committed to tomorrow’s match, reaching the final, and winning it. I’m super happy here and have always wanted to feel valued here. This season is a perfect 10/10 for me.”

Williams has a release clause of €58 million (£48m/$60m), which could potentially change if he agrees to a new deal with his boyhood club. While his name is likely to dominate headlines this summer, the winger remains firmly concentrated on achieving European glory—with the final set to take place at San Mamés.
