Real Madrid Announce First Summer Signing with Dean Huijsen Capture
Real Madrid have officially completed the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth, marking their first acquisition of the 2025 summer transfer window.
The club announced the deal via their official X account on Saturday, May 17, 2025. The signing comes as part of Madrid’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States in June.
Huijsen has agreed to a five-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until the summer of 2030. The 20-year-old defender attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal, following an impressive 2024/25 campaign with Bournemouth.
Transfer Fee and Contract Details
Reports suggest that Real Madrid paid £50 million to secure the services of the Spanish centre-back—matching his release clause. Huijsen’s move comes just a year after he joined Bournemouth from Juventus for £12.6 million. He made 34 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring three goals.
As part of the transfer terms, Juventus are reportedly entitled to 10% of the fee due to a sell-on clause included in the original deal with Bournemouth.
