A young man identified simply as Chigbo, who was believed to have traveled to Europe was found “chained and locked up inside a hut by his family members” for the past five years in Etiti village in Igbo-Ukwu, Anambra State.
It was gathered that Chigbo’s family members told his friends that he had travelled abroad in 2021.
The circumstances surrounding his confinement and the perpetrators remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
A video making the round on social media shows the moment Chigbo regained his freedom.
“I’ve been locked here since July 3rd, 2021,” he said, clearly relieved.
This chilling discovery has thrown the entire community into shock and outrage, with many demanding for justice.
The owner of the house claims the young man is mad hence they decided to chain him in this hut since 2021.
