An army veteran has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the most tattooed woman ever.

Esperance Fuerzina has covered an astonishing 99.98% of her body in tattoos, extending from her scalp to the soles of her feet, including her eyelids, eyeballs, gums, and tongue. Despite her extensive body art, the 36-year-old American is not finished and continues to seek new additions.

Esperance began her tattoo journey at 21 with a hip tattoo and is now thrilled with her progress. “To be the most tattooed woman and to have the most body modifications feels a little crazy. I am grateful and excited for the future – and of course, I am not done,” she said.

In addition to her tattoo achievement, Esperance also holds the title for the most body modifications for a female. She surpassed the previous record held by Maria José Cristerna, who had 50 modifications.

Esperance boasts 89 modifications, starting with a tongue split and including five facial implants, along with a range of piercings in her ears, nipples, labia, and gums.

She even had parts of her ears removed, drastically changing her appearance from her pre-tattoo days with long brown hair.

Reflecting on her tattoos, Esperance said, “I have had a pretty nomadic life, and not much room in my (army) pack, so I felt I could take this with me wherever I go.” She believes her body art transforms dark times into light and serves as a reminder of her experiences while aiding her personal evolution.

Before Transformation

Despite the attention she receives, which includes some negative reactions, Esperance remains hopeful. “I think there is still a way to go in terms of accepting people and allowing them to look how they want without discrimination or judgment,” she commented.
