Wizkid Scores Fifth Billboard Hot 100 Entry with Gunna Collaboration Forever Be Mine

Global Afrobeats icon Wizkid has achieved yet another career milestone as his latest collaboration, Forever Be Mine with American rapper Gunna, debuts on the Billboard Hot 100.

The single entered the chart at No. 68, marking Wizkid’s fifth career entry on the prestigious U.S. chart and further solidifying his place among Africa’s most influential and successful musical exports.

Blending Gunna’s melodic rap flow with Wizkid’s signature Afrobeats rhythm and smooth delivery, the track has quickly become a fan favourite, surging across streaming platforms and igniting buzz on social media. Its early chart success highlights the synergy between Gunna’s U.S. fanbase and Wizkid’s global reach, underscoring how seamlessly Afrobeats continues to fuse with mainstream hip-hop and pop.

For Wizkid, Billboard success is nothing new. His international breakthrough came in 2016 with his feature on Drake’s “One Dance”, which not only topped the Hot 100 but also made Wizkid the first Nigerian artist to ever achieve a U.S. No. 1.

He went on to break further ground with the global hit “Essence” featuring Tems — later remixed with Justin Bieber — which peaked at No. 9, becoming the first Nigerian song to reach the U.S. Top 10. Other notable entries include “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyoncé, SAINT JHN, and Blue Ivy Carter, and “Call Me Everyday” with Chris Brown.

The debut of Forever Be Mine reaffirms Wizkid’s versatility and staying power, proving his ability to glide between Lagos-inspired Afrobeats and cross-genre collaborations that resonate worldwide.

Music industry analysts say this milestone not only adds to Wizkid’s legacy but also signals the continued rise of Afrobeats as a global force. With Wizkid’s loyal fanbase, “Wizkid FC,” and Gunna’s strong U.S. following pushing the single, there is mounting expectation that the track could climb even higher in the weeks ahead.

Ultimately, Forever Be Mine positions Wizkid once again as a bridge between continents — from Surulere to Los Angeles, and from Afrobeats roots to the global mainstream stage.
