Wizkid and BNXN’s “Mood” Certified Gold in New Zealand

Afrobeats giants Wizkid and BNXN (formerly Buju) have reached yet another career milestone as their smash collaboration Mood has officially been certified Gold in New Zealand.

The certification, confirmed on Friday, October 3, 2025, signifies that the track has surpassed the equivalent of 15,000 units sold in the country. This achievement underscores the global resonance of Afrobeats, a genre that continues to break boundaries and dominate charts far beyond Africa.

Originally released as part of the deluxe edition of Wizkid’s Grammy-nominated album Made In Lagos, Mood quickly won fans over with its smooth blend of mellow vocals, irresistible rhythm, and laid-back vibe. The song’s timeless appeal has kept it alive in playlists worldwide, and its success in New Zealand is yet another testament to its staying power.

For Wizkid, this latest certification adds to an already decorated catalog, marking his sixth certification in New Zealand alone—an impressive feat that cements his reputation as one of Africa’s most influential and globally recognized music exports.

For BNXN, it represents his second certification in the country, solidifying his place as one of Afrobeats’ brightest rising stars and proving his ability to resonate with audiences worldwide.

The global triumph of Mood not only shines a light on the collaborative genius of Wizkid and BNXN but also reflects the unstoppable growth of Afrobeats. With each milestone, the genre’s influence spreads wider, connecting cultures and audiences, and positioning African music firmly at the center of the world stage.
