Victor Osimhen’s Napoli Exit: Latest Transfer Twist as Galatasaray Talks Reach Final Stage

As the summer 2025 transfer window heats up, all eyes are on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, whose long-anticipated departure from Napoli is entering a critical phase with new updates emerging.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Friday, July 18, 2025, negotiations between Napoli and Turkish giants Galatasaray have resumed — but not without complications. Napoli recently rejected Galatasaray’s improved bid, yet discussions have now progressed to a more advanced club-to-club negotiation stage.

What’s new in the deal?

Napoli has introduced fresh conditions to the contract talks. Among them is a clause preventing Osimhen from joining any other Serie A club for the next two years, which appears to be a protective move by the Italian side. Additionally, Napoli is demanding further financial guarantees and has requested a sell-on clause — meaning the club would receive a percentage of any future transfer fee if Galatasaray sells Osimhen later.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Napoli has sought amendments to the deal. Earlier in the negotiations, they insisted that the €75 million valuation be paid sooner than Galatasaray initially proposed, alongside a bank guarantee to back up the payment structure.

Will the deal go through?

Although the final agreement between Napoli and Galatasaray is still pending, the deal appears to be moving closer to completion. Personal terms between Osimhen and Galatasaray have already been agreed, which signals that the striker is open to the move. If both clubs can settle the remaining contractual hurdles, Osimhen’s transfer could be finalized soon.

For now, fans will have to wait a little longer to see if one of Africa’s top strikers will officially swap Serie A for the Turkish Super Lig in one of this summer’s biggest transfers.
