UNL: Italy France Belgium in same group – Italy, winners of Euro 2020, and France, finalists in the 2022 World Cup, were paired up in the UEFA Nations League group stage after the draw took place in Paris on Thursday.

According to ESPN, the duo finds themselves in Group 2 in League A, alongside Belgium and Israel.

Germany and Hungary, who are set to clash in the Euro 2024 group stage, were once again drawn together. Their group, Group 3, also features Netherlands and Bosnia.

Spain, the reigning champions, will compete against Denmark, Switzerland, and Serbia in Group 4.

This edition introduces a quarterfinal stage, with the top two teams from each League A group progressing to this new phase.

In League B, England and the Republic of Ireland were drawn into Group 2, joined by Finland and Greece. This marks England’s first appearance in League B following their relegation in the previous edition.

Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been excluded from the competition.

The Nations League will be connected to European qualification for the 2026 World Cup. The four highest-ranked Nations League group winners that do not finish in the top two of their World Cup qualifying group will enter the playoff stage.
