UCL: Key players return for Inter Milan ahead Barcelona clash
Inter Milan supporters will have Lautaro Martinez available for the crucial second leg clash against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
Lautaro Martinez sustained a muscular injury during the half-time in Wednesday’s first leg game against Barcelona. He was replaced by Mehdi Taremi at the start of the second half of the match.
French defender, Benjamin Pavard who missed last week’s first leg draw and the weekend’s Serie A win will also be back for selection. Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi confirmed Pavard had returned to training on Monday and is in contention to be available for the second leg.
Inter Milan coach, Simeone Inzaghi confirmed that the medical staff will have to give him the green light on Martinez and Pavard.
He said,
“We will decide together with the medical staff, together with the players themselves, because they will be the ones who will have to tell me their own feelings,Pavard participated in the first part of training yesterday, he didn’t feel much, so we’ll see. Lautaro hasn’t trained since the Barcelona match, today we’ll see how he is and then we’ll decide.”
Inter Milan supporters will hope that both players will be passed fit for the game against Barcelona as they look reach the Champions League final for the second time in three years.
