Tems to Executive Produce Children of Blood and Bone Soundtrack, Joined by Ayra Starr, BNXN, and Fireboy DML

Nigerian Grammy Award-winning singer Tems has been officially announced as the Executive Music Producer and Curator of the soundtrack for the highly anticipated Children of Blood and Bone movie, adding another historic milestone to her career. With this appointment, she also becomes the first woman to executive produce a soundtrack of this magnitude.

In addition to overseeing the soundtrack’s creative direction, Tems recorded three brand-new original songs for the project, further showcasing her growing influence beyond performing and into music production and curation.

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed why Tems was selected to lead the soundtrack, praising her artistic vision and the remarkable body of work she created.

“I wanted Tems to curate the soundtrack. I wanted her to executive produce it. She’s actually the first woman to executive produce a soundtrack at this level, which is incredible. She put together an epic soundtrack. There are absolutely no skips. The soundtrack is so amazing, and I’m so proud of Tems, who had never done this before and created something truly extraordinary.”

Prince-Bythewood’s remarks highlight the confidence placed in Tems to shape the film’s musical identity. The role marks another significant step in her career as she expands from an internationally acclaimed recording artist into music supervision for a major Hollywood production.

The soundtrack will also feature fellow Nigerian Afrobeats stars Ayra Starr, BNXN, and Fireboy DML, bringing together some of the genre’s biggest names for the film’s musical companion.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy has been appointed Executive Music Consultant, collaborating closely with Tems to help refine the soundtrack’s overall creative direction and sonic identity.

Speaking about the project, Prince-Bythewood emphasized the strength of the lineup.

“Then Burna Boy came on board as the executive music consultant. We’ve got three new Tems tracks. We’ve got Fireboy DML, BNXN (Benson), and Ayra Starr.”

Based on the bestselling fantasy novel by Tomi Adeyemi, Children of Blood and Bone has generated significant excitement worldwide ahead of its release. With a soundtrack led by Tems and featuring some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, the film is expected to make an even stronger impact globally. The soundtrack is already being tipped as one of the most anticipated movie music projects of the year.
