Spyro says Davido and Mayorkun ignored him after 2018 collab
Spyro Reflects on Being Sidelined by Davido and Mayorkun After 2018 Collaboration
Nigerian singer Spyro has shared a painful chapter from his early music career, revealing how Davido and Mayorkun distanced themselves from him shortly after their 2018 collaboration on the Funke remix.
In a recent interview with HipTV, the Only Fine Girl singer recalled the excitement that came with the song’s initial success, only to be followed by sudden silence.
“I thought my life was about to change,” Spyro said. “The song was everywhere when it dropped, but soon after, things just went cold.”
He described the emotional toll of being ignored by artists he once connected with, adding, “I’d call and they wouldn’t answer. I remember sitting on the staircase, crying. I had my parents to care for, and nothing seemed to be working.”
Despite the heartbreak, Spyro has since rebuilt his career, scoring major hits and winning over a loyal fan base.
