South African musician Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that left one man critically injured.

The Limpopo Police confirmed that the 30-year-old artist was taken into custody during an intelligence-led operation in Bendor, Polokwane, around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12.

According to police reports, the arrest follows a road rage incident that occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025, along Witklip Street in Ladanna, just outside Polokwane.

Investigators revealed that Shebeshxt was allegedly involved in a heated confrontation with another driver during which he pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at the vehicle. A 34-year-old man was struck and later rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police spokespersons confirmed that Shebeshxt has been formally charged with attempted murd3r and will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, November 13, 2025, to face the charge.

Following the news of his arrest, social media users have reacted strongly. Some celebrated the development, claiming that the singer’s past aggressive behavior made the outcome inevitable. Others expressed disappointment, urging that justice be served and calling for greater accountability among public figures.

Authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing as they continue to piece together the events that led to the shooting.
