Soulja Boy Claims Innocence in Intense R@pe Trial

Soulja Boy Claims Innocence in Intense Rape Trial
Soulja Boy Takes the Stand in Trial
On Wednesday (April 2), Soulja Boy testified for the second time in his ongoing trial, where he faces allegations of kidnapping, r@pe, and unpaid wages from his former employee and girlfriend.
During the hearing, the rapper responded to questions from his attorney regarding hostile text messages sent to his accuser. According to Courthouse News Service, Soulja defended one message that read, “Fk you bh,” as common language within rap culture.
Another message stating, “Die b**h. Shoulda killed your stupid a*s,” was clarified by the artist as non-threatening, explaining, “I just meant you’re dead to me. It wasn’t meant as a threat or violence.”
Soulja Boy also denied ever officially employing the woman, claiming she was more of a live-in blunt roller. He further rejected allegations of sexual assault, maintaining that their relationship was always consensual, albeit turbulent.
Soulja Boy Trial Verdict Looms
Soulja was originally sued in January of 2021 in Los Angeles Superior Court by the woman who claims she started working as Soulja’s personal assistant in 2018 and began dating him the following year. Jane Doe claims she was raped, beaten and held hostage by the recording artist, who also subjected her to a hostile work environment and did not pay her the wages that she earned.
Last week, the accuser testified about being the victim of abuse and rape during her time dating the rapper.
“I feared for my life,” Doe told the jury, adding that Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Way, threatened to “send shooters” to the house. “I was scared of what he would do to my family. I didn’t want him to hurt anybody because of me,” she testified.
Closing arguments in the three-week trial are expected to be delivered on Monday (April 7).
