Smallville Actor Chris Gauthier Dies at 48 – Renowned Canadian actor Chris Gauthier, celebrated for his memorable roles in popular television series such as Once Upon a Time, Eureka, and Smallville, has tragically passed away at the age of 48, as confirmed by his representatives.

Chad Colvin, affiliated with TriStar Appearances, conveyed a heartfelt tribute on Sunday, February 25, through a Facebook statement. Colvin shared the profound impact of the news, expressing deep sorrow and disbelief upon hearing about Gauthier’s passing.

According to Colvin, it took him considerable time to gather the mental and emotional strength required to pen down the tribute after receiving the heartbreaking news from Gauthier’s wife.

TriStar Appearances and Event Horizon Talent subsequently corroborated the news in a statement provided to Fox News Digital, disclosing that Gauthier breathed his last on the morning of Friday, February 23.

While the exact cause of death was not disclosed, Gauthier’s management stated that he succumbed to an unspecified short illness.

Chris Gauthier’s remarkable career spanned over 100 acting credits, as documented on IMDb. Notable among his roles were the character Smee in Once Upon a Time and Vincent in Eureka.

In a poignant tribute, Colvin described Gauthier as the epitome of a character actor, emphasizing that though audiences might not have always known his name, they were familiar with his face and voice, recognizing that a compelling performance awaited whenever he graced the screen.

Colvin acknowledged Gauthier’s versatility, recalling moments like standing against Clark Kent on Smallville as the Toyman, tormenting Dean on Supernatural, or assuming the role of Smee alongside Hook in Once Upon A Time. Gauthier, in Colvin’s words, consistently gave his all when the camera was rolling.

Colin O’Donoghue, Gauthier’s co-star from Once Upon a Time, paid homage on Instagram by sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from their time filming the series.

O’Donoghue expressed deep sorrow, remembering Gauthier as the “real captain” and extending condolences to Gauthier’s wife, Erin, and their children.

Chris Gauthier leaves behind a legacy of captivating performances and is survived by his wife and children, as the entertainment industry mourns the loss of a talented and versatile actor.
