Ruben Amorim Kicks Dressing-Room TV After Man Utd’s Brighton Defeat

Ruben Amorim vented his frustration by damaging a TV screen following Manchester United’s humiliating 3-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday. The incident occurred after a match in which Amorim, visibly angry, referred to the current squad as “the worst in the history of Manchester United.”

It’s reported that he kicked the screen, which was used to display game footage for players, though the exact details of the incident remain unclear.

This defeat marked United’s sixth loss in the last 12 Premier League matches, and Amorim’s fury carried into his post-match press conference. He declared that the team’s performance was a “survival” challenge in the Premier League and reiterated that the current side was the worst in the club’s 147-year history, including the club’s origins as Newton Heath in 1878.

He acknowledged the global attention his comments would attract, saying, “I know you want headlines, but I’m saying this because we have to recognize it to change it.”

Amorim, who has experienced a difficult start to his United tenure with seven losses in 15 matches, faces challenges with player trades in January, particularly with financial limitations and the need to sell players like Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, and Antony to make any significant moves.

It looks like the £85 million Brazilian winger Antony will be on his way to Real Betis on loan, there is interest from Borussia Dortmund in Rashford and Chelsea are considering a move for Alejandro Garnacho, which might involve a player exchange, although such deals rarely materialise.
