Roger Federer, Del Potro lead nominees for 2026 Tennis Hall of Fame Class
Tennis legend Roger Federer, the first man in history to capture 20 Grand Slam singles titles, and former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro will headline the nominees for the International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
The Player Category, which recognizes ATP and WTA athletes who have achieved a distinguished competitive record at the highest international level, features several distinguished names. Federer is widely credited with ushering in an era of unprecedented greatness alongside his younger rivals, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
He is one of only eight men to win at least one singles trophy from each of the sport’s four majors, completing his career Grand Slam at Roland Garros in 2009. His major titles include a record eight at Wimbledon, six at the Australian Open, five at the US Open, and one at the French Open.
Joining Federer and Del Potro in the Player Category for the 2026 ballot is Svetlana Kuznetsova, a four-time major champion with two titles each in singles (2004 US Open, 2009 French Open) and doubles.
The Contributor Category for 2026 features TV announcer Mary Carillo and administrator Marshall Happer. The final inductees for the Class of 2026 are scheduled to be announced in November.
