Raphinha equals Cristiano Ronaldo's Champions League record
One of Barcelona’s star player Raphinha has ensured that his name gets mentioned with one of the greatest footballers, Cristiano Ronaldo in the history of the UEFA Champions League.
Raphinha took his goal contribution for Barcelona in this season’s ( 2024/25) to another level by equalling Cristiano’s goal contribution in one season. The Brazilian had 21 goal contribution in a Champions League season which is the same as the Portuguese international.
Raphinha scored a goal in the second leg of the semi-final tie against Inter Milan to take his goal contribution in a single Champions League season to 21 (13 goals and 8 assists ). Ronaldo achieved this same feat during the 2013/14 season with 17 goals and 4 assists.
This form for the midfielder will put him as one of the favourites to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony. However, before the award ceremony later in the year, the only disappointing part of this achievement is that his goal was not enough to take Barcelona to the final of the competition.
